Why does TMC install Eagle Roofing Products specifically?

Three reasons. First, Eagle's California Collection is engineered for SoCal — Title 24 cool-roof options across every profile (Capistrano, Malibu, Bel Air, Golden Eagle, Ponderosa, Tapered Slate). Second, Eagle is made in California (Riverside and Stockton plants), so lead times are short and matching tiles for repairs is reliable for decades. Third, TMC is on Eagle's Authorized Installer list — that means we follow Eagle's spec, the warranty stays intact, and Eagle backs the tile itself for the full service life.

How long does a concrete tile roof actually last?

Accepted Answer

50+ years for the tile itself, often longer in the dry SoCal climate. The underlayment beneath the tile is usually the limiting factor — high-quality synthetic underlayment now lasts 30–50 years; older 30-lb felt only lasted 20–30. When TMC installs Eagle tile we spec long-life underlayment so the whole roof system matches the tile lifespan. Concrete tile is the longest-life pitched roof material short of clay or slate.

Is concrete tile too heavy for my home?

Accepted Answer

Conventional concrete tile is roughly 950 lbs per 100 square feet — heavier than asphalt shingle (250 lbs), so existing tile homes are already engineered for it. If you're converting from shingle to tile, we engineer the load before quoting. Eagle also makes Lightweight tile (~600 lbs/100 sq ft) in many of the same colors — we use it when the original framing was specced for shingle and won't easily take a conventional load.

What's the difference between Capistrano, Malibu, Bel Air, Ponderosa, Tapered Slate, and Golden Eagle?

Capistrano is the classic Spanish S-tile — barrel profile, high arch, Mediterranean look. Malibu is similar but with a deeper shadow line. Bel Air is a low-profile S-tile, softer and more contemporary. Ponderosa is a flat shake-style tile that imitates cedar shake. Tapered Slate looks like graduated stone slate — more upscale. Golden Eagle is a curved shake with hand-crafted character. Same Class A fire rating and 50+ year service life across all six. Profile choice is purely aesthetic + the architectural style of the home.

What is Title 24 and which Eagle tiles meet it?

Title 24 is California's energy code — for most residential roof replacements it requires Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC)-listed reflective tile (or shingle) with specific solar reflectance and thermal emittance values. Most Eagle California Collection colors are Title 24-compliant; the per-color cool-roof badge on the cards above shows you which. If your project is a re-roof in CA, we make sure the tile we quote passes Title 24 before we ever schedule the install.

Typical timeline: free 21-point inspection within 24–48 hours · written estimate within a week · permit + materials in 1–3 weeks (Eagle's Riverside plant is 30 minutes from our HQ, so most colors are in stock or available fast) · install in 3–7 working days for an average-size home. Priority for storm damage and insurance claims — we move faster when there's a tarp on the roof.
